Trivia Bee for Whatcom Literacy Council

Hardlines competed in this years Trivia Bee and Silent Auction organized by and benefitting the Whatcom Literacy Council. The Council does great work in our county, and we are glad to support them. Hardlines donated one year of free webhosting and domain name registration for their Silent Auction. Hardlines also competed in the Trivia Bee. We were in the 3rd round with 7 other teams, and while the questions were difficult, we feel that we did ok. We ended up in 3rd place in our round. The event was won by the “Heavy Culture Reading Group”. Congratulations to all contestants who participated, as we helped to raise over $20,000 for the Whatcom Literacy Council.

Aaron Booker is now an MCP

Aaron Booker has passed his Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) Exam entitled “Designing, Deploying, and Managing a Network Solution for a Small- and Medium-Sized Business“. This was the final step before being able to claim that Hardlines is a Microsoft Small Business Specialist. We expect Larry Gilbert and Nik Dahl to both become MCP certified within a month. This means that you can be assured that Hardlines is well qualified to setup and administer your Small Business network.

Lots of changes coming

Here at Hardlines, we are working hard on many new system changes. There is a new version of ModernBill coming out, and we will be migrating all our existing customers into the new system. ModernBill provides some outstanding functionality, and I’m certain you will all be very pleased with it.

We would like to announce the addition of a cool new webmail client for our customers: RoundCube Mail. This new client is AJAX based, which means that it will be much more similar to a Windows or Macintosh application. Double clicks, drag and drop, no page refreshes.
